Rail Cargo and Rail Freight The Future is Ours launch ‘European Year of Skills’ for the rail sector

Rail Cargo and The Future is Ours have adopted the European Year of Skills to promote working in the rail freight sector and create a better image for international rail freight transport in Europe.

Rail freight transport contributes significantly to cleaner and safer transport and is a solution to combating climate change. Several innovations are on the way to make the sector even cleaner, smarter, and more efficient. Currently, the sector is contributing to secure energy supplies and will continue to do so in the future.

For this green and digital transition, every sector needs people, including the rail sector. For this reason, we have adopted this year’s initiative – after the European Year of Rail (2021)-, the European Year of Youth (2022). Read the final report on the EU Year of Youth here.

2023 has been declared the European Year of Skills. During Transport Logistics Munich in May, we will officially launch the European platform for young people in the rail sector. More information will follow soon.
