TMA Logistics is launching a train shuttle service operating between the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. The service will operate four times a week and offers fixed slots at deep-sea terminals in Rotterdam.
Terminals served by the shuttle train in the port of Rotterdam include RWG, ECT Rotterdam and APM2.
According to TMA Logistics, the service offers a circumvention of traffic congestion on the busy A4 highway by moving freight off-road. The company also stresses sustainability as an advantage of the newly offered service.
TMA is a major inland shipping company in the Netherlands. Subsequently, the train shuttle will be integrated with TMA’s other logistics services in order to offer multimodal transportation options. In combination with the company’s barges, TMA offers 29 departures on a weekly basis between the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
